BREAKING NEWS!
We interrupt your regular scheduled programming for this breaking news development.
“Washington Capitol Leaders stunned by the dedication, determination, and persuasion of ACTE attendees at the national conference, rushed home to their constituents to begin implementation with radical sweeping changes for Career and Technical Education in their states. Greatly inspired by attendees, the politicians realized the critical importance of CTE for the future success of the United States of America”.
Wouldn’t that be a wonderful interruption to see occur while watching “Desperate Housewives”? (Just kidding, I hate the show) We may not see such a dramatic change of events occur, or radical sweeping changes come about, but I know for sure that the political leaders who had the privilege of hearing and speaking with all involved in CTE, came away with a new sense of admiration.
The politicians “had the privilege” to listen to the enthusiasm, dedication, caring, proud attendees who truly care for the welfare of their children and their future in this great country. I truly feel those involved with CTE possess greater connections with their students and so come to connect to them with a fevered desire for their care and success. For politicians to listen to CTE folks brag on their kids, brag on their schools and programs, had to be an uplift to people who sit all day embattled in turmoil in Washington.
The underlying question will be if changes will come about. Will the political leaders leave the conference with a renewed strength of the benefits of CTE, or just return to the status quo? Whatever happens, we in CTE must never give up the fight. We must never stop the efforts to change the perception and uplift that must transform CTE into becoming the “Premier Career Pathway”. Way to go ACTE conference attendees!!!!
